■ The Adoption Support Group planned to meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Monticello Community Center. All adoptive and prospective adoptive parents from Wright and Sherburne counties are welcome. Child care is available. For more information, call 763-241-2602 or 763-684-2318.

■ The Annandale Friends of the Library planned to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the library located next to Annandale City Hall. Agenda items include the election of the 2012 officers. ■ American Legion Post 131 planned to meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the post in Maple Lake. The auxiliary meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15. New members are welcome.

■ At 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, there will be a test of the narrowband siren system. It will last less than 30 seconds. The test will take place within 10 miles of the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant. Officials are asking that no one call 911 or the sheriffs dispatch. No actions are necessary.

■ The Diabetes Support Group will meet on Wednesday, Nov. 14. Dr. Anne-Marie Lee, endocrinologist at Allina Health, will discuss guidelines for diabetes management and prevention of complications. She will also review of the newer medications. Everyone is welcome. The groups meets at 6:30 p.m. in the deli eatery at Cub Foods, Buffalo. Contact Julie Starke, 612-508-3396, for more information.

■ The Wellness on Wheels van will be at the Marketplace in Annandale from 2 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15. The Wright County Human Services van provides a number of health services and screenings at no or reduced costs, including immunizations. It will not be in Cokato this month. The van does not go out in poor weather conditions.

■ Lundeen Bros. Ford will host ‘Go Further With Ford Night’ that will raise money for the Annandale Food Shelf. It will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Annandale dealership. For everyone who comes in, Ford will donation to the food shelf. See the ad on page 5A.

■ Annandale Police Chief Jeff Herr will present Operational Safety Planning for Your Business at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, in the Performing Arts Center, Annandale High School. The public is invited. See the story in the Wednesday, Oct. 17, Advocate or access it at www.annandaleadvocate.com.

■ An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at Classic Rides and Rods in Annandale from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16. The need is especially great in the wake of superstorm Sandy. ■ The Community Health Foundation of Wright County will host its annual fall dinner and auction event at Huikkos Bison Creek Event Center in Buffalo Friday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. The evening will include a silent auction, cocktail reception, dinner and entertainment by Bob Stromberg, a featured comedian of Triple Espresso. ■ The 34th annual Art Expo and Craft Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Howard Lake Middle School. There are more than 100 exhibitors, food, drawings and more.

■ The Annandale Area Community Teams Holiday Home Tour will be held Saturday, Nov. 17, beginning at 1:30 p.m. with a light lunch. There will also be a silent auction and a tour of lovely homes. ■ The Annandale Cardinals football team will play Rochester Lourdes in the State Class 3A semifinals at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. For more on the game, see the story in this issue.

■ A benefit for Tom Johnson of Annandale will be held starting at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Lampi Auction Center, on the corner of Highway 55 and County Road 6. There will be a silent auction, dinner and more. Johnson, the owner of Johnson Electric, suffered a massive stroke in July and hospitalized for 53 days. He is undergoing rehabilitation. ■ Annandale High School will be presenting the fall play, ‘The Revenge of the Space Pandas,’ at the Annandale High School Theater. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18.

■ The first meeting of a five-week series of ‘Grieving the Loss of a Loved One’ will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at the RE/MAX Integrity offices. Anyone suffering a loss in invited. See the brief in this issue, or call Joy, 320-266-1086, for more information.

■ A 60-Plus and Healthy Clinic will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at the Senior Dining Site in Annandale City Hall. Footcare will be provided for seniors, and although there is a small fee, no one will be turned away. Also, other health checks and screenings will be provided if time allows. ■ A Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held at noon Thursday, Nov. 22, at the Annandale United Methodist Church. For a ride or a meal delivered to your home call the church at 274-5127.

■ A six-week, Monday morning workshop called Healthy Eating for Successful Living Program will be offered at the Annandale Wellness and Community Services facility, 500 Park Street East, beginning Monday, Dec. 3, from 9 a.m. to 11:30. To register or to receive more information, call Dustin Henkelman at 274-1470 or Mary Simpler at 320-229-4591. Workshop materials and snacks are provided at no cost. There will be no class on Christmas Eve, Monday, Dec. 24. Registration is required by Tuesday, Nov. 27.

■ St. John’s Lutheran Church, Annandale, will hold its annual Holiday Fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at the church. There will be crafts, collectibles, antiques and much more. Cinnamon rolls will be served and so will a luncheon. Proceeds go to charity.

■ Santa will visit RE/MAX Integrity in Annandale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1. Kids and parents are invited to come an have their photo taken with Santa, enjoy treats and activities. Donations to the food shelf are encouraged. See the ad on page 1B.
