
Kenneth James Dorman, 87, formerly of South Haven died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at his residence in Kimball.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 16, at the Kingston Apostolic Lutheran Church. Pastor Orval Wirkkala officiated. Burial with full military rites followed at the Kingston Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Doris of Kimball; children and spouses Patricia and David Schauer of Kingston, Kevin and Rita Dorman of Albany; sister Iona Funk of Chisago City; grandchildren Heather Walberg, Brandon, Damian and Bryce Schauer, Dayna Koehn, Kenny D. and Amanda Dorman, Stefanie Belschner and Crystal Eaton; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Dean, brothers Vernon, Garfield, Leslie, and Claren, and sisters Vivian Lennox and Doris Larson.
Kenneth James Dorman was born Sept. 28, 1924, at Bertha to Elmer and Esther (Kline) Dorman. During WWII he was a member of the U.S. Army serving in the South Pacific. He married Doris Huro on April 5, 1946, in Minneapolis and was an operating engineer for 40 years working most of this time for Park Construction of Minneapolis. Ken was a member of the Kingston Apostolic Lutheran Church, the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 and was a life member of the South Haven VFW Post 7332. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and reading, especially Louis L’Amour western books.
