LaVerne Irene (Rannow) English, 94, peacefully passed away into the arms of our Heavenly Father on Oct. 16, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. We want to thank the staff at both Eventides (Fairmount and Eventide on 8th in Moorhead, Minnesota) and Ethos Hospice for all the great care she received. Also, special thanks to Bob and Jean Peterson for always looking out for Mom. LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; parents, Frank and Katherine; sister, Pearl (who died as an infant); and brothers, George and Dave. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Gary) Wald of Minneapolis, Ellie (Dick) Schubert of Summerfield, North Carolina, and Marie (Jeff ) Scherer of Moorhead, Minnesota; seven grandchildren and 18 greatgrandchildren. Laverne was born on Dec. 23, 1924. She raised her family in South Minneapolis and worked as a cashier at the Star and Tribune cafeteria for 19 years. Leo and LaVerne moved to Granite Lake in Annandale in 1970 and lived there for 49 years. She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. She was loved by all that knew her.
