William L. Romine

Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of William L. Romine, 63, of South Haven was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Clearwater.  Visitation began at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at St. Marcus Cemetery in Clear Lake at a later date. Bill passed away with family by his side on Monday, August 17, 2020 on the farm. Bill was born February 15, 1957, in St. Paul to Robert and Ruth (Woebkenberg) Romine.  He graduated from St. Paul Johnson high school in 1975.  After high school Bill worked at the MN state fairgrounds, then went on to work for Metro Steel in Hugo for 20+ years.  During that same period, he also started farming alongside his brother in 1980.  Upon relocating from St. Paul to the farm in 2001, he began another career at Clearwater Travel plaza where he has been for the last 14+ years.   In his spare time, Bill enjoyed hunting, family gatherings, farming, four-wheelers and snowmobiles.  He especially liked deer hunting and was a very good shot.  Bill loved to visit with people, he was a hard-working man with a gentle soul.  Bill is survived by his brother, Jerome (Carmel) Romine of South Haven; Nieces, Stacy (Scott) Eisenreich of Avon, Wendy (Chad) Udermann of Holdingford, Amanda (Shane) Kliber of Holdingford; nine great-nieces/nephews.
