Carole J. Dalager

Carole J. Dalager, age 81, of South Haven, died Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital. Visitation will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. with funeral services at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale. Burial will follow at Grace Southside Cemetery near Annandale. In honor of Carole, attendees are encouraged to wear Vikings apparel or colors! Carole Jean Dalager was born Oct. 30, 1941, in Cass Lake to Roy and Sophie (White) Lorentzen. Carole’s mother died when she was a young girl; as a result, she attended various boarding schools in North Dakota and Minnesota. Carole graduated from Mound High School and continued her education at the University of Minnesota. She owned and operated 1029 Restaurant in Northeast Minneapolis before moving to South Haven where she worked at Mom’s Cafe. Carole was a member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. She enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, and cheering on her beloved Minnesota Vikings. She is survived by her husband, Terry; daughters and son, Deborah Bilges of Minneapolis, Justine Bilges of St. Paul, Anthony Bilges of Minneapolis, Jewel Bilges of Columbia Heights, Michele Bilges of South Haven, and Jo Robbins of Rochester; step-son, Troy Dalager (Vanessa Martins-Dalager) of Boston, Massachusetts; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Markie McCoy and Maryann Jensen; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and numerous brothers and sisters. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
