Cathie Lee (Winkelman) Rarer, died on June 28, 2023, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson. The interment of the urn will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on a later date. Cathie Lee (Winkelman) Rarer, the daughter of Leo and Dorothy (Fossum) Winkelman, was born on Jan. 7, 1943, in Minneapolis. As a young girl, her family moved to Arizona where she grew up and graduated from Arcadia High School in Arizona. Cathie was employed by Malco Products in Annandale as an administrative assistant for many years. On Feb. 1, 1995, Cathie was united in marriage to Walter George Rarer in Clark County, Nevada. Together they resided in their home by Big Swan, moving to Annandale. In 2017, Cathie and Walter made the decision to make Bullhead City their permanent home. Cathie could often be found camping with Walter. Together they had visited and camped in many of the national parks in the lower 48 states. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved the laughter of little children. She was fond of the sun and warm weather of Arizona. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Sandra (Timothy) Benoit of Dassel, sisters, Diane Allen of Reno, Nevada, and Lona Adams of Lakewood, California, step grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Rarer, her parents, Leo and Dorothy Winkelman, and her brother, Russell Winkelman. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home of Dassel, 320-275-3381.
