
Sharon Lee Smith, age 87, of Annandale, formerly of Cokato, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2023, at the St. Cloud Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 7, at p.m. at the Kimball United Methodist Church with Rev. Lori Artner officiating. The interment of the urn will be held at the Zion United Methodist Cemetery following the service. A time to gather with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the Kimball United Methodist Church on Saturday, Oct. 7. The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is in charge of the memorial service arrangements. Sharon Lee (Rubel) Smith was born on July 15, 1936, to Earl and Mildred Rubel in Lake Lillian Township, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota. She was baptized at home along with her brother and sister. She was confirmed at the Methodist Church in Litchfield. Sharon graduated from the Litchfield High School, and in later years she attended St. Cloud, Business College and received a degree in Jr. Accounting. She worked basically in bookkeeping, accounting, and income tax. Sharon was united in marriage to Robert J. (Smitty) Smith. To this union four children were born, Sheryl Kay (Keith) Woodford, Monica (Robert) Moham, Ronald (Diane) Smith, and Kevin (Nancy) Smith. She had nine grandchildren, Sarah Jo (Russell) Kisner, Stacy (Chuck) Rotzien, Brandon (Randi) Woodford, Marin (Ryan) Storstad, Bryan Moham, Destiny Smith (Todd Bearson), Lacey (Joe) Decker, Weston (Tess) Smith and Spenser Smith. She was a member of the Kimball United Methodist Church and a member of the Kimball Legion Auxiliary. She was also a member of her painting clubs. The Northland Decorative Artists – which later changed to Northern Creative Artists. She enjoyed attending the Painting Retreats and Seminars, where she took classes in various different types of Folk Art Decorative Painting. Besides her painting, she enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, and spending time at their lake place at Fairhaven, with her family and friends. She is survived by her children, and nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mildred Rubel, her husband, Robert, daughter, Monica Moham, son, Ronald Smith, sister, Joycelyn Jensen, two brothers, Perry Rubel and Lyndon Rubel, and one infant granddaughter, Kari Peterson.
