Michael D. Leinonen

Michael D. Leinonen, age 52, of Annandale, died Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Cokato Manor from complications of an automobile accident that took place on Nov. 17, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Corrina Cemetery.

Michael David Leinonen was born April 26, 1972, in Buffalo to David and Sharon (Holm) Leinonen. He grew up in Buffalo, where he attended Buffalo Covenant Church and graduated from Buffalo High School with the Class of 1991. On October 22, 1999, Michael was united in marriage to Patty Golembeck at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale. They made their home in Annandale where they were blessed with one child, Lisa. He worked at Dan and Jerry’s Greenhouse in Monticello.

Michael was a devoted husband and father. He had a passion for tractors, steam engines, and wrestling. Throughout his life, he found joy in operating equipment and attending steam thresher shows. He also found enjoyment in time spent bowling and watching wrestling matches on television.

He is survived by his wife, Patty; daughter, Lisa; parents, David and Sharon; brother, Mark (Tracy); mother-in-law, Beverly Golembeck; sisters-in-law, Diane (Dan) Powers, JoAnn (Kirk) Jacoby, Suzanne (Mike) Koep, and Cindy (Ron) Maas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Richard Golembeck.
