Judith “Judy” Lundberg, age 81, of Annandale, died from complications of dementia on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at home surrounded by the love and care of her family.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, at Spilled Grain in Annandale.
Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Annandale.
Judith Ann Lorge was born on Oct. 5, 1942, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John and Fern (Bricco) Lorge. She grew up in Minneapolis and was a graduate of Minneapolis South High School. On May 2, 1964, Judy was united in marriage to Dennis G. Lundberg in Minneapolis. They made their home in Minneapolis, until moving to Lake John, near Annandale in 1967. Judy dedicated her life to caring for children in need, opening her home to countless youth over the span of 40 years.
Judy’s legacy as a foster parent will forever be remembered in the hearts of those whose lives she touched. Her selfless dedication to providing a safe and loving home for children in need exemplified her kind and nurturing soul. Through her role as a foster parent, she made a lasting impact on the lives of many, leaving a legacy of love and compassion.
As a devoted mom and grandma, Judy’s love and compassion knew no bounds. Her joyful spirit and love for music, dancing, and the great outdoors radiated to all who knew her. Her passion for travel and walking in nature allowed her to appreciate the beauty of the world around her, and her commitment to family was unwavering. She will forever remain in our hearts as a shining example of compassion and selflessness.
Judy is survived by her children, Carrie Ann Lundberg (Dennis Dalan) of Annandale, Laura Lundberg (Aaron) Bulthuis of Plymouth, Derik Lundberg of St. Paul, Sue (John) Graham of Bloomington, Joanne Georges of Buffalo, Andrew Anderson of Annandale, and Julie (Dan) Scheevel of Litchfield; grandchildren, Catherine, Etta, Lydia, Lexi, Emily, Jeff, Judy, Matthew, Tony, Keith, Mike, Corine, and Heidi; siblings, Linda Crandell and Jack (Anna) Lorge; sisters-in-law, Barb Lorge and Mary Ann Lundberg; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; parents, John and Fern Lorge; siblings, Donald Lorge, Leroy Lorge, Jerry Lorge, and Beverly Hendren.
