Chris Nystrom

Chris Nystrom, 64, passed away on February 13, 2025, in Annandale, Minnesota after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and many friends.

Born on April 28, 1960, in New Hope, Minnesota, Chris was the son of Rodney and Marjorie Nystrom. Throughout his life, he was known for his kind, caring, and thoughtful nature, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chris worked for DriSteem in Eden Prairie for 30 years before retiring in 2018. He had a passion for traveling, always eager to go on a road trip and see new places or places that brought back fond memories. In his younger days, Chris was an avid hunter and fisherman, which he often enjoyed with his Dad and cousins. He also enjoyed spending time at the casino, where he found entertainment and camaraderie. Chris entered the Annandale Care Center in 2021, which quickly became his home. He was surrounded by amazing staff and residents who adored him as he did them.

He is survived by his brother Jim (Sue) Nystrom of Plymouth, MN ; sisters Jolene (Joe) Hannon of Maple Lake, MN and Kathleen Nystrom of Annandale, MN; as well as his beloved nieces and nephews-Megan, Erin, Josh, Robert, Emily, Elizabeth, and Erika. He also leaves behind great-nieces and great-nephews-Cody, Aria, Kash, Ryker, Addy, Juno, Charlie, and Camila-who will cherish his memory. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Marjorie Nystrom.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring. Notice will follow.
