Ellis A. Knute

Ellis A. Knute age 82, of Annandale, died Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at the Annandale Care Center.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church in Annandale, with Rev. Ken Tatkenhorst officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Ellis Arnold Knute was born on June 21, 1942, in St. Cloud to Arnold and Pearl (Hill) Knute. Ellis was a lifelong resident of Annandale, with a few years in Minneapolis. On April 14, 2002, he married Linda Rice at Faith Lutheran Church in Huntington Beach, CA. and together they shared countless moments and cherished memories.

He began his career at the Ford Plant in Minneapolis from 1963 to 1969 before transitioning to a fulfilling 25 years as an over-the-road truck driver, where he embraced the open road, making connections and memories along the way. He also dedicated 11 years to road construction, before retiring in 2015, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.

He was a man of great character and joy, known for his laughter and unwavering spirit. His passion for life was evident in the way he cherished every moment spent with his family. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of camping, hunting, and casting lines into area lakes and rivers. Ellis could often be found driving old cars.

Ellis is survived by sons, Todd Knute of Becker and David (Val) Knute of Monticello; daughter, Terrie (Kirk) Karg of Eau Claire, WI; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Karen Knute of Bemidji; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Pearl; son, Lance Knute, and brother, Dwight Knute.

The urn bearers will be Mike, Matt, Nick, and Christian Knute. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
