Timothy Carl Swanson was born on January 2, 1959, in St. Cloud to Carl and Ruth (Olson) Swanson. He grew up in rural South Haven and graduated with the Class of 1977 from Dassel Cokato High School.

For 36 years, Tim dedicated himself to his craft as a machinist at Kurt Manufacturing in Fridley, where his sharp mind and diligent work ethic served him well. Tim found joy in the simple pleasures of life, and his passions included dancing, exploring local breweries, tending to his garden, enjoying live music, woodworking, and delving into books. He was particularly fond of history and cherished his visits to museums, where he could immerse himself in the past.

Tim was not one for extravagance; instead, he found richness in moments shared with loved ones. His generous heart and kind, caring soul left a lasting impression on others. He possessed an intelligence that was matched only by his willingness to lend a helping hand, always putting others before himself.

He is survived by his wife, Laura Swanson; daughter, Melissa (Blake) Hansen of Golden Valley; grandchildren, Wesley and Henry Hansen; sisters, Roxanne Lunderby of Watertown, and Brenda (David) Harkman of Monticello; brother-in-law, Lloyd Neuman; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ruth; daughter, Amanda; sister, Beverly Neuman; and an infant brother.

Blake Hansen, Brian Lunderby, Justin Beck and Lloyd Neuman will serve as urn bearers. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
