James “Jim” Patrick Adams, age 74, of Annandale, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, at Quiet Oaks Hospice House.
Born on June 10, 1951, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Marvin (Red) and Celeste (Peg) Adams, Jim grew up with a strong work ethic, a sharp wit, and a deep love for family—qualities that shaped every chapter of his life.
One of the most defining chapters began in seventh grade, when he met the girl who would become his lifelong partner. Jim and Debbie built a love story that spanned more than five decades. They married in 1969, still teenagers, and together created a life filled with devotion, hard work, and countless memories. Over the years, their home became the heart of a large, close-knit family as they welcomed five children, followed by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their marriage was marked by loyalty, teamwork, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to one another.
Jim worked for Pick Industries before his lifelong career with R.M. Johnson, where he was known for his dedication and reliability. Outside of work, he found joy in simple, meaningful moments: traveling with his wife, family, and friends; hunting and fishing with his sons, sons-in-law, and grandsons; reading; music; cooking; riding SXS with friends at the hunting shack in Remer; and cheering on his grandkids at their countless sporting events. His greatest pride was always his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 57 years, Debbie Adams; his children Joe (Michelle) Adams, Kelly (Greg) Fobbe, Jeremy (April) Adams, Lindsay (Alex) Bronder, and Jamie (Carolyn) Adams; grandchildren Felicia (Peter), Kyler, Brock (Kenedy), Hailey, McKenzie, Keaton, Talan, Evyn, Cohen, Savannah, Mara, and Mabry; and great-grandchildren Palmer, Nixon, Baker, and Crue. He is also survived by his sister, Janet (Dana) Engebretson; sister-in-law, Carla Adams; and many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Doris Bystedt; father-in-law, Lester Bystedt; and brother, Bruce Adams.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held from 1:00–4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Southbrook Grille in Annandale.
Jim will be remembered for his humor, his generosity, and the unwavering love he had for the people who meant the most to him.
