Lightning trounce New London-Spicer

The Annandale-Maple Lake wrestling team competed in two events last week. The Lightning traveled to New London-Spicer Thursday, Jan. 22, for a Wright County Conference meet and easily took care of the Wildcats 50-18.

On Saturday, Jan. 24, the team traveled to Rochester for the Rochester Century Panther Invitational. The Lightning finished second behind Lakeville South.

The Lightning finished a very close second to Lakeville South.

The Lightning had five first-place finishes, two second-place finishes, three third-place wins and one fifth-place finish.

"This week we have non-conference meets against Apollo, Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sundberg and Tri-City United," Ogden said. "All notable opponents and we should get a good test as the regular season soon comes to an end."
