The Maple Lake Lakers were off last week as the bottom four in the North Star League battled it out for the eighth spot in the league playoffs. The Lakers will face Howard Lake at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, in Hutchinson. The playoffs are double-elimination so a Laker victory means they would play on Saturday at 7 p.m. while a loss means a game at 5 p.m. on Sunday (see last week’s Advocate for a tournament bracket).
