On Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, Kyle Greene, son of Zona Greene and Larry Greene, completed his stay on earth.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale with Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Annandale and at the church one hour prior to services. There will be a prayer service 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Survivors include his mother, Zona Greene of Annandale; his siblings, Kevin Greene, Travis Greene and Kristy Greene; and nephews, Maxwell and Zachary Rissanen. Kyle is also survived by his father and step-mother, Larry and Vicki Greene of Annandale; and sisters, Rhonda, Teresa, and Shannon. His sole surviving grandparent is Norma Crabtree of Chanute, Kansas. Kyle was blessed with a large and blended family and is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dude Crabtree and Herbert and Esther Greene.
He was born in Chanute, Kansas, on March 31, 1971, and moved to Annandale two years later where he has since resided. Kyle graduated from Annandale High School in 1989 where he excelled as a student and an athlete, consistently making the academic honor roll and lettering in several varsity sports, and was admired and appreciated by many for his quick wit and tenacious ability to stand up for what he believed. A student of life, Kyle attended Itasca Community College where he played baseball before returning to Annandale to assist his father in their family business, Greene’s Custom Corporation. Kyle loved his family and friends and enjoyed golfing or hunting with them. He also cherished his independence, often working in solitude on projects. A devoted son, Kyle took pleasure in working on home improvement projects and never said no to any request made of him. Those who loved Kyle knew him to be fiercely loyal, a man of his word, and always willing to lend a helping hand.
