Thomas W. Geldert, age 90, of Annandale, died on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022. Public visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, 2022, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale. A private memorial service was held on Saturday, Jan. 22, at Mount Hermon Lutheran Church in Albion Township, Annandale with Paul Bravinder officiating. Burial with military honors followed at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Minnesota Twins Community Fund. Thomas William Geldert was born in Minneapolis, MN to Albert and Anna (Brookshaw) Geldert. He enlisted in the Army, serving from 1952 – 1954 in the Korean War. After his time in the service, Tom became a switchman for the Chicago and North Western Railroad. He joined the Minneapolis Fire Department where he proudly retired after 28 years of service. He was married in Watertown, SD in 1984 to Linda Fenlon. Tom was a member of the Kimball American Legion. In retirement, Tom spent the rest of his days on Granite Lake, near Annandale, with his family and his greatest companions, his dogs. Even between all the boat rides and bonfires, Tom never missed a Minnesota Twins game. Tom is survived by his children, Chris (Mary Kay), Cynthia, Becky (Mike) Maki, Andrew (Gail), Rosie (Rick) Lusian, Tony (Brenda), Gloria (Randy) Fiecke-Eckensteen, and Ashley (significant other, Ryan); step-children, Melissa (Gene) Mayer and Mike (Kelly) Thomas; sister, Glady Schafer; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Anna; wife, Linda; brother, Eddie; sister, Delores Jorgensen; and step-daughter, Kelly Thomas. Military Honors were provided by the Kimball American Legion Honor Guard and the U.S. Army National Guard Honor Guard. Arrangements are entrusted with Dingmann Funeral Care Burial and Cremation Services of Annandale.
