Alex grew up in the Annandale area, along with his brother, Nicholas. He attended Annandale Public Schools. Alex was currently working for DNK in Mankato. Alex loved to be outdoors, whether it be fishing, hunting, snowboarding or traveling; one of his favorite vacations was a trip to Belize where he made life-long friends. Alex was always looking forward to his next trip with his dad. You could often hear his music blaring, making it well known of his presence. Alex is survived by his mother, Shannon (Christian) Sonsteby of Annandale; father, Theodore (Bethany) Hilsgen of Maple Lake; brothers, Nicholas (significant other Peyton Weleski) of Bemidji; grandparents, Richard and Janet Stuhr of Annandale and Ella Hilsgen of Clearwater; uncle, Justin Stuhr of Annandale; aunt, Michelle (Rick) Infusino of Seattle, Washington; step-siblings, April (David) Kroger of Little Falls, Autumn (Alex Theisen) Albers of Fort Collins; and Owen Albers of Duluth; his significant other, Ana Welch of Duluth; godchildren, Malcolm and Leo Rask; and many other family and friends.
