In the first game of the State High School Girls Hockey Tournament, the North Wright County RiverHawks were defeated by Lakeville North 5-4 in overtime. The RiverHawks scored two goal in the first period, the first by Dani Sibley (unassisted) at 3:58; the second at 16:18 by Rachel King (assisted by Marina Chapman). The RiverHawks scored two more goals in the third period, the first by Maddi Sjelin (assisted by Rachel Heiber) at 13:00; and the second by Kaleigh Hamann (assisted by Rachel King). The overtime goal by Lakeville N came at 4:18 on a goal by Vetter (assisted by Kloncz and Winiecki). Senior Rachel Heiber and Sophomore Marina Chapman are AHS students.
RiverHawks play in consolation round at 12 noon today, Feb. 22 at the Ritter Arena at U of M. The RiverHawks will face Irondale in that game. Irondale lost to Minnetonka 4-0 in the quarterfinals Thursday.
