On Saturday, Aug. 22, Annandale’s Thayer Hotel and Restaurant hosted author Tamara Louise Thayer, the great-great-granddaughter of Albert “Gus” Thayer, who at one time owned the hotel-restaurant. Tamara Thayer is the author of two books A Country Doctor Goes to War and The Mystery of Barbara Fritchie, A True Patriot. Both books mention the Thayer Hotel and Gus Thayer.
