Leo W. Ahsenmacher

Leo W. Ahsenmacher, 93, of Centennial Villa, Annandale, died Friday, June 18, 2010, at the Annandale Care Center.  Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Annandale, with Fr. Victor Valencia officiating and burial at St. Ignatius Catholic Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Friendship Ventures.  He is survived by his children and their spouses Mary Lou and Denny Rasset of Annandale, Robert and Roxanne Ahsenmacher of Shakopee; grandchildren Eric, Amy, Carrie, Nickie, and Jason; and great-grandchildren Eli, Sadie Marie and McKenna.  He was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, brother Joseph, and sisters Helen Callahan and Frances McAlpin.  Leo William Ahsenmacher was born July 2, 1916, at Annandale to William and Mary (Gleason) Ahsenmacher. He graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture with a degree in Forestry and served during World War II in England, France and Germany as a member of the U.S. Army.  Leo married Phyllis L. Brede on Dec. 28, 1946, in Minneapolis and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2007. For many years he was a sales representative for Power Tools, Inc. of St. Paul retiring in 1979 when he moved from Plymouth to full-time on Clearwater Lake. He was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and enjoyed his life on the lake and winters on Maui.  Pallbearers: Nickie, Eric and Stacy Rasset, Jason Ahsenmacher, Amy Ahsenmacher Winter, Dustin Winter, Carrie and Michael Kronquist and Bill McAlpin.  Music: Carolyn Wicks.
