Robert ‘Bob’ Thompson

Robert "Bob" L. Thompson, 79, of Clearwater died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale with Pastor Kevin White officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy of Clearwater; sons, Jeff (Debra) Powers of Cokato and Steve (Kristen) Powers-Gray of Hudson, Wisconsin.; stepsons, Chris Field of Rockford, Steve (Stephen) Field of Minneapolis and Matt Field of Concord, Massachusetts; sister, Krista (Bob) Hohensee of Brookfield, Wisconsin; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cindy Thompson; and brothers, Loren and John.

Robert Larry Thompson was born on Sept. 25, 1937, in Randolph, Wisconsin, to John and Eleanor (Oman) Thompson. He grew up in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and graduated from Madison High School. Bob served his country in the U.S. Air Force. In 1988, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Lappi in Edina. They lived in Maple Lake and St. Augustine, Florida prior to moving to Clearwater in 2007. Bob enjoyed gardening, traveling, woodworking and visiting with old friends.
