
Janet M. Walberg, 73, of Annandale died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Center.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Annandale with the Rev. Dave Nelson officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel in Annandale and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Burial will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale.
Janet is survived by her children and their spouses, Penny and Jeremy Reeve of South Haven, Allyn and Dawn Walberg of Glen Ullin, North Dakota, and Sandy and Darrin Krohn of Dassel; grandchildren, Travis and Justin Glunz, Allie Daugherty, Ashley Olson, Zach Moen and Allen Lauer; great-grandchildren, Kailey, Bryson, Madilyn, Kalissa, Alaina, Willow and Ashton; and sister-in-law, Jeanette Walberg.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Wilhelmina Helmer; husband, Ronald; and brother, Ronald Helmer.
Janet Marie Walberg was born Aug. 13, 1943, in Backus to Alvin and Wilhelmina (Peterson) Helmer. Jan grew up in the Twin Cities where she attended Robbinsdale High School. In her younger years, Jan worked as a waitress for various dining establishments. On Dec. 23, 1963, Janet was united in marriage to Ronald Allan Walberg in Golden Valley. They moved to Annandale, where they raised their three children. Janet enjoyed bird watching, listening to music, going to garage sales and attending church services. She loved the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of her family.
