Dorothy Lampi, 92, of Annandale died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Park View Care Center, Buffalo. Funeral services were Friday, Dec. 10, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, French Lake with Rev. Edward Groop officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery, French Lake Township, Wright County. She is survived by her daughter, Deanna (Brian) Hedman of Annandale; son, Tom (Dayle) Lampi of Annandale; grandchildren, Mitch Hedman, Michelle (LeRoy) Wurm, Trent (Kara) Lampi, Mark (Lynn) Lampi; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Morgan and Raegan Wurm, Claudia, Justin, Connor, Claire and Olin Lampi; sisters, Mildred Nelson of Annandale, Shirley Tyni of Van Nuys, Calif.; and brother, Donald (Bertha) Nelson of Cokato. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin; sisters, Mabel Compton and Alice Hoikka; and brothers, Ralph, Harry and Carl Nelson. Dorothy Marie Lampi was born June 12, 1918, in Cokato to Fred and Anna (Hurula) Nelson. She married Martin Lampi Aug. 19, 1939, in Cokato and he preceded her in death on Dec. 25, 1993. They first lived and managed the West Albion Co-op Store. One year later they moved to the farm one mile south. She helped Martin for many years on the farm and in the auction business by running the lunch wagon. She also worked in the lunch program for Annandale Schools. Dorothy was an active member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Minnesota Auctioneers Auxiliary, and Cokato Finnish-American Historical Society. She enjoyed her three trips to Finland and other travels throughout the United States. All her life Dorothy loved socializing with friends in neighborhood groups and more recently at Centennial Villa where she lived for the last seven years. Spending time with her family and especially her great-grandchildren was the light of her life. Pallbearers: Mitch Hedman, Michelle and LeRoy Wurm, Trent, Kara, Mark and Lynn Lampi and Jerry Hoikka.
