Arnold R. Neumann

Mr. Arnold R. Neumann, 77, of Annandale, died Thursday, July 20, 2000 at Health One Buffalo Hospital.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 24, 2000 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township, Wright County, with the Rev. Leland Bendix officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery
He is survived by his wife Bernil of Annandale, daughter, sons and their spouses, Louise and Thomas Whittaker of Madison, Wisc., George and Rebecca of Annandale, Robert and Jean of Annandale, sisters, Myrtle Weber of Fresno, Calif., Adeline Neumann of Minneapolis, brothers and their spouses, Alfred and Teddy of LaValle, Wisc, Herald and Carol, of Annandale, Ellsworth of Minneapolis, six grandchildren, Paul, Nicole, Brianen, Andrea, Patrick and Lisa Neuman, all of Annandale.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother, Wilbert.
Arnold Robert Neumann was born on April 3, 1923 in Albion Township, Wright County, to the late Paul L. and Ernestine B. (Zeidler) Neumann. He graduated from Annandale High School in 1941 where he played on the nine man football team. He was baptized, confirmed, married, and a lifelong member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Middleville Township, Wright County, where he served on the cemetery board, and church council as secretary, president and treasurer. He married Bernil Ruth Hauswedell on December 22, 1945. He lived and farmed in Albion Township, Wright County, all his life where he was a rural school board member for many years. He served 27 years on the Lake Region Cooperative Board of Maple Lake where he held the position of secretary and president. He served on the board of directors of the Western Cooperative, Montevideo. He served on the Unity Insurance Company board of directors as president and secretary, where he also wrote wind and fire insurance for 27 years. Arnold served on the Howard Lake Creamery Board until the creamery consolidated with AMPI North Central District, and was appointed AMPI delegate to Chicago, Kansas City and San Antonio. He worked on the committee to establish the power line from Coal Creek, N.D. to Dickinson Springs.
